Antique Edwardian brooch with paste gemstones set into a silver gilt setting (gold plated silver). For the Victorians the 'Crescent Moon' symbolised new beginnings and rebirth. It also represented spirituality and the glorification of the Feminine Moon Goddess. The brooch is in excellent antique condition, measuring 2.4cm /0.9" in width and 2.1cm /0.8" in length.
